Our children’s French classes are held in Chevy Chase, Washington DC, making them convenient for families coming from Friendship Heights, Bethesda, Northwest DC, and nearby neighborhoods.

We intentionally keep our groups small so each child can actively participate and develop speaking confidence.

All Levels - Young Kids Classes - 2.5-7 years old

* Our small kids classes, Moineaux (2.5 to 4.5 years) and Poussins (5 to 7 years) are playful immersion classes with activities similar to what children would do in a French maternelle (preschool). Learn words and sentences, use them in songs, dances, games, and stories. For French and non-French speakers (beginner to advanced welcome!).

Regular Saturday Classes

Our Petit Francais classes are for French speaking children: bilingual or very advanced.
We focus not only on a typical curriculum for French speakers, but also on vocabulary acquisition and reading, as well as reinforcing conversation. Of course we tackle spelling and grammar, but in a way that is adapted to the needs of bilingual children, who often default to English. We reinforce areas of difficulties (homonyms, silent letters, e versus i, the accentuation etc...)

- How large are the children’s classes?
Most kids’ groups are intentionally kept small to encourage participation and interaction. While the maximum is 10 students, some groups may have as few as 3 to 5 children.

- Do you also offer French classes for teens?
Yes, we offer programs for older children and teens depending on level and demand.We recommend private lessons for teens.
